Cimari described herself as a very outgoing child, but also a bit of a troublemaker. Her biological father was not involved in her life, forcing her mother to fill the difficult role of single parent to Cimari and her older brother. Her mother later remarried and life became a little easier having a father figure in her life.
Cimari’s family struggled, but her parents made sure that she and her siblings were happy and well cared for. While her parents made sure they had enough food to eat, clothes on their backs and shoes on their feet, they could not provide a good schooling environment for her. School was difficult for Cimari because her teachers often let the students control the class and it was cumbersome to learn anything.
Between class clowns and students arguing with teachers, the teachers essentially gave up on the students, including those who were determined to learn. Knowing that her current school environment was not benefiting Cimari, her mother thought she should try something new. Cimari’s mom suggested enrolling at our school. Once she began there, her whole life began to change; her grades and test scores improved and she was happy again.
With help from her teachers to stay motivated and work hard, Cimari is on track to graduate and she plans to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a nurse. With previous experience caring for her grandmother, she is well on her way to a successful career in the medical field.
